More and more I am convinced that a believer's perseverance, steadfastness, in the face of trials is a precious sacrifice of praise to God. As I watch friends suffer another round of cancer treatment, reel in the face of their spouse's unfaithfulness, or grieve a prodigal child and yet turn their eyes to Jesus and testify of His faithfulness despite their painful circumstances, I marvel... Beautiful. Enduring faith. Shaken but not destroyed. One thing I know for sure, Scripture tells us to count it all JOY when we face trials of many kinds because the testing of our faith produces steadfastness.
