“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?  And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why even the hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6&7)

The word “forgotten” means to put out of mind or neglect. “The hairs of your head” pictures in the most minute detail the wonderful care and protection God gives to His children.

Sparrows: such insignificant little creatures– worth so little that you could buy five of them for two pennies, such a small amount of money! Many people would not even bend over to pick up two cents if they were to see it on the ground!  Yet not one sparrow is neglected by God; He cares for all He created, no matter how insignificant.

What encouragement do these words have for you, my friend?  You are far more valuable to God than MANY sparrows! He knows you in such detail that He has counted the very number of hairs on your head.  Fear does not need to hold any power over you!
