Whose ways should we be observing?  And, where do we find direction to help us live a life surrendered to Christ?

The entire book of Proverbs is filled with the instruction given by a loving father to his children. According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for observe is ratsah, meaning “to be pleased with” or “to accept favorably”. The father is pleading with his child to give him his/her whole mind, will, and emotions, following in his steps, so that he/she might live a lifestyle which would please the father – a lifestyle of a surrendered heart.

Oh, friend, this is what our Heavenly Father desires from us! He wants our hearts to belong completely to Him.

His Word says, “Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with their whole heart!”, (Psalm 119:2, ESV). Verse 11 of that same chapter tells us, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” God wants us to observe His ways by studying His Word, memorizing it, and obeying what we read! He will bring great blessing to our lives as we surrender our will to His!

May we each commit this very day to surrender our heart fully to Christ and live a life that will please Him.
