Where do you find your strength, my friend? Is it by a hard workout at the gym? Does it come from the camaraderie of friends at a ladies’ night out? Maybe just having your whole family together makes you feel like you could conquer the world! This verse tells us the Psalmist, David, found strength for his own life by trusting in the Lord.

The Hebrew word for strength means “boldness, might or power.” We know that a shield gives protection. David’s trust in God allowed him to experience boldness and power from the Lord. He had seen God’s faithfulness as his protector during many difficult times in his life.

Won’t you trust the Lord to give you the strength you need for whatever is happening in your life?

Run to Him as David did, let Him be your strength and shield! May we not rely on our hard work, family or friends to give us strength, but let us choose to trust in the Lord! He is the only one who is truly able to give us a song of praise in our hearts.
